Romeo

Romeo is a mustang gelding from the Triple B HMA(herd management area) in Nevada. In 2018 I went to the Florence Holding corrals where I was shown a pen of about 80 geldings, ages 2-5. My eyes were set on the only bright colored dun, hiding amongst bays, chestnuts, browns and greys, but my fingers were being nibbled by a big bay with curious eyes. Everywhere I walked around the fence line he followed me. He pulled at my jacket, sniffed my face. He chose me. I walked away with him and that elusive dun that day and began my mustang journey.

Romeo’s presence is large. He is not afraid to take up space. He’s bold and courageous and ready to investigate and experience all that life with me has to offer.

He quickly became my heart horse. We breathe together, legs move in sync, before I’ve even had the thought he’s performing with me. He carries my heart forward with inspiration and clarity.
